  • Our next Quarterly meeting is Nov. 4th 2017. We will look at what changes need to be made to our constitution and by-laws.
  • Our Hebrew Classes and will start up again after the Fall Feasts on Saturday, October 21st, from 3 – 5 pm in the Board Room.
  • High Holy Days and Sukkoth for 2017, extend from Wednesday evening, September 20th (Erev Rosh Hashanah) to Saturday morning, October 14th (Simchat Torah) The schedule is on the back table so you can sign up and tell us what ritual food you will bring for our services and please also remember to plan what food you will bring for our two Onegs and our special Simchat Torah Nosh.
  • We have purchased a brand-new Sukkah and we are going to be setting it up on the lower deck of the courtyard on Sunday afternoon, October 1st from 2-4 and we will be taking it down on Sunday, October 14th, from 2-4. It is a white 24′ x 12′ x 8′ temporary car garage, which should easily accommodate 30 to 40 people. We will be decorating it during the week before the Erev Sukkoth service on Thursday, October 5th. Are you willing to help? What decorations you could bring for the Sukkah. We will be holding our Sukkoth services in it and it will be open in the afternoon (2-4) and evening (7-9) during the week of Sukkoth for those who want to eat in it and celebrate with us.
  • Don’t forget your individually wrapped chocolates for Simchat Torah, October 14th and tell us which Bible passages you would like to read if you speak another language.
  • Our monthly calendars, our constitution and the annual Torah reading lists for 2017-2018 are available on the back table. Please return your Siddurs there after service. Have you signed up to bring challah? We will need three small round challah loafs and two big challah loaves for out Rosh Hashanah services. Check out the new format for our monthly calendars. October’s calendar will be ready for next week.
  • For those who are interested in Bar/Bat Mitzvah, please see Mike who would love to take you through the process and answer any questions you may have. Those who have agreed to participate in Julie’s committee, please stay after service and we will meet in the Conference Room.
  • Prayer Meetings are at 7 pm on Wednesday evenings. Anyone wishing to come early on Saturday and pray before our Shabbat service is still welcome to do so in the sanctuary. Once a month, we will be holding our Prayer Meeting at Gainford (John and Sherri’s). Directions are on the back table.
  • We are still studying the Gospel of Luke on Thursdays at 7 pm during our weekly Yeshiva (Bible Study) and have reached the end of chapter 24. Join us and bring your questions. NOTE. There will be no prayer meetings or Yeshivas during the Fall Festivals (Sept. 20th- October 14). Our first Prayer Meeting for 5778 will be at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 18th and our first Yeshiva will be at 7 pm on Thursday, October 19th.
  • REMINDER TO LEADERSHIP: The Leadership next meeting is tomorrow, Sunday, September 10th from 12:30-2:30 at Mike and Patti’s place.
  • We will be going over the Makzor (High Holy Days and Sukkoth service guide) next week, during our service on September 16th
  • Claire is on the third floor in Norwood. She is doing well and appreciates all the visitors.
