Alastair Brown is a talented Messianic artist and musician who has moved home to New Zealand. Here is a look at some of his paintings. He is also a Messianic singer/songwriter, and has a website about his musical work.
Due to the severe allergies of our Rabbi and several people in the congregation, we respectfully ask that people refrain from using scented body products: cologne, aftershave, hairspray, and other such cosmetics. As well, please use a scent-free fabric softener on your clothes. We thank you for your cooperation.
Wednesday evening Prayer and Yeshiva are held in the Sanctuary.
You can now listen to some of B’nai Chayim’s music on MySpace performed and written by Paula, our Communications Coordinator. Several of these songs, such as “Baruch Atah Adonai” and “He Is Robed In Majesty” have become congregational favourites. The page also includes some basic information and a blog.
You can download a copy of the congregation’s Vision Statement to read here.
A program for adult Bar/Bat Mitzvahs has been developed. If you are an adult interested in taking the program, please speak to Trish.
If you are single and looking to connect with other Messianic singles, click here for information about the UMJC’s official singles e-mail list.
Paula, our Communications Coordinator, was interviewed a while back by the Internet radio program “The Shofar’s Call” regarding some music that she wrote — you can download and listen to the interview here (it’s show #7).
Our congregation supports the Blue Box Program of the Jewish National Fund of Canada. If you are interested in obtaining a Blue Box to fill with coins, we have Blue Boxes available on the back table during every Shabbat morning service.
If you are interested in contributing to our Torah fund, there is a box on the back table for donations. They can be made anonymously or with your contact information if you would like a receipt. The monies will be used to purchase a new mantle, a curtain, and other liturgical items to be used in conjunction with the Torah scroll. If you need a ride to shul, please let someone in leadership know. We can arrange rides for those in need.
If there are birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions you would like us to acknowledge, please let someone in leadership know.
