Annual BBQ on Saturday

Published August 7, 2014 by Rabbi Mike in Rabbi's Posts

Shalom Mishpocah,

We are going to have another amazing annual picnic at our home (11634 111A Avenue). We will begin at 11 am with a shorter service and worship, then move on to the BBQ.

It is pot luck, so please bring whatever meat you would like to cook (no pork or shell fish of course) and salads and desserts and beverages.

Please also bring chairs. Please only use unscented sun screen.

We will have three wading pools set up for the kids and a bouncy castle, so there will be something for everybody.  Those who wish to engage in a water fight, this option will be relegated to the back alley to avoid collateral damage.

It is the first Sabbath of consolation (Shabbat Nachamu) where the first offering of the consolation passages in Isaiah is used, along with the second giving of the Ten Commandments in the Torah portion.

It is an excellent opportunity to introduce friends and family to our shul ministry.

We have never been rained out, but if this occurs, there will be enough room in our home for everybody.

See you there.

Shalom,

Rabbi Mike
