Erev Rosh Hashanah Service

Shalom Mishpocah, Whenever multiple groups share the same facility, scheduling can be a complicated undertaking, because it is not always possible to accommodate everyone’s needs. Laurier Heights does an excellent job trying to fit all the needs of the various groups who meet in the building into a regular schedule – and there are currently six different groups using the facility every week. A prayer group for Laurier Heights is starting up again this September, beginning next Wednesday. They have been meeting in the sanctuary. We have already booked the sanctuary for Wednesday, September 24th for our Erev Rosh Hashanah […]

Please only use unscented sun screen. We will have three wading pools set up for the kids and a bouncy castle, so there will be something for everybody.  Those who wish to engage in […]

Today is Tisha B’Av

Shalom Mishpocah, We are looking after our grandchildren for a few days while our son and his wife get their condo ready to sell.  I understand why there were not too many ladies inventing things and exploring new worlds until recently.  They were busy cleaning, cooking, washing, cuddling and stopping fights, only to have to do it all over again several times a day!  I am enjoying every second of it and am remembering the joy of multitasking with four little ones who tag team me! Today, on the Jewish calendar, we are commemorating Tisha B’Av, the fast of the […]

Last Day of Torah Kids Club

Shalom Everyone, We have had a wonderful week exploring the festivals of the L-rd.  Today we will explore Sukkoth as we wrap things up.  We gave each child a Torah Kids Club t-shirt and they are enjoying working on their crafts, playing games and singing and snacking.  We are going to invite the parents to our annual congregational BBQ which will happen on Saturday, Aug. 9th and we hope to see some of them involved in our wonderful community. Tomorrow is Black Sabbath – the Sabbath before Tisha B’Av, the date when both temples were destroyed.  We need to understand […]
